Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the Principle of Human Respect?
A: The Principle of Human Respect is You Are The Power’s foundational ideology. It states that coercion, theft, and violence always diminish one’s happiness, harmony, and prosperity. To learn more about the Principle, please review the document linked here.
Q: What types of cases does You Are The Power accept?
A: Our four primary practice areas are:
Family Reunification Program (FRP) – Dedicated to supporting innocent families who have been falsely accused of abuse following a medical misdiagnosis.
Freedom Fund – Our main support program, where we assist individuals dealing with various local government abuses, including internal policy violations and criminal cases.
Charity Defense – Assist other nonprofits and their clients in resisting interference from local government officials who selectively enforce ordinances and engage in harmful practices that affect programs, missions, and outcomes.
Civil Liberties – Support individuals harmed by unconstitutional local ordinances or when government officials infringe on constitutionally protected activities.
Please note that You Are The Power does not assist with cases involving sexual assault, parental alienation, child custody, or domestic violence incidents.
Q: What does it mean when You Are The Power says a client is factually innocent?
A: If criminal charges are involved, the client is blameless, not because of legal technicalities, but because they did not commit a crime. We base this conclusion on facts and evidence, not on hunches or gut feelings. Our work relies on evidence and requires facts, not theories, to guide our investigations during case vetting.
The factual innocence standard that we uphold requires us to be right 100% of the time. We do not support the guilty or someone who feels they should have been charged with a lesser or different crime. A YATP client is an unimpeachable victim of government overreach.
Q: Does You Are The Power handle cases in all fifty states?
A: Yes. You Are The Power is a nonprofit organization based in the US that accepts cases from across the country.
