Testimonials

If it had not been for the amazing volunteers with You Are The Power, our family more than likely would not have been reunited. After being falsely accused of child abuse, having our family ripped apart and facing 80 years in prison, my husband and I reached out to YATP out of desperation. We are thankful that God allowed our family to cross paths with these amazing humans that we can now call our own. The Timms family is forever grateful for all each and every volunteer who had a hand in our fight to reunification.

My husband and I were wrongfully accused of child abuse. I don’t exactly remember how I found You Are The Power or how we connected, but we did, and there are no words to express how thankful I am. I do however remember my first phone call with Ryan. I was standing in my parent’s bathroom, breaking down in tears explaining our story and the path we were walking. Ryan listened to me, comforted me, validated every emotion I was having, and towards the end of the phone call he told me something I will never forget “your kid is our kid now, your family is our family now, and your fight is our fight now.” How comforting it was to have someone in your corner during a journey that you felt so alone. Fast forward, Ryan sat next to me after I gave a speech at a committee meeting for a second opinion law in the state of GA, he hugged me and held me as they announced they wanted to name this law after my son, my baby boy. He cried right next me. You Are The Power holds such a special place in my heart. Through the darkest time of my life, they showed up and fought right alongside my family without hesitation. Thank you, You Are The Power. My family is so grateful for your dedication to Human Respect and for your dedication to The Truth. We wouldn’t be here today without any of you. Family forever!

Columbia, SC

Be Kind Be Great saw a need and felt called to fill it. Every week, Ericka Brown and her team provide meals and assistance to the unhoused and marginalized members of their community. Assistance the city managers objected to. Police told what she was doing was blocking sidewalks, and, in the words of one councilman “creating an attractive nuisance.” Ericka was told they could no longer serve and would face fines, or worse, if they persisted.

You Are The Power members joined in the fight, helping via donations, service at feeding events, and speaking to the City Council on the needs of the community and the benefits of having groups like Be Kind Be Great ministering to those in need. The harassment has now stopped, and Ericka continues her mission.

Surprise, AZ

Rebekah Massie had questions about how the Suprise, AZ city council was operating, specifically the level of compensation the City Attorney was receiving. She was trespassed and forcibly removed from chambers in front of her 12-year-old daughter thanks to a law Mayor Skip Hall had created barring criticism of the city council in meetings.

She teamed up with FIRE and You Are The Power to bring pressure, and a lawsuit, against the city for her treatment under this unconstitutional law. In the end, the mayor chose not to run again, and the city attorney resigned. Rebekah now serves You Are The Power as our Western Regional Organizer.

Enshrining Parental Rights Into Law

Enshrining Parental Rights Into Law

Georgia

You Are The Power’s respectful and repeated correspondence with DCFS Commissioner Candice Broce created a powerful ally and led to policy changes protecting a family’s right to a second opinion and on February 28th, 2025, a bill now known as Ridge’s Law in honor of Ridge Collings, the son of clients Casey and Bailey Collins, passed unanimously in committee and has been signed into law by Governor Kemp. This will enshrine the policy dictated by DFCS into law, ensuring parental rights and proper investigation.
