Our Active Causes
Michael and Tasha Patterson
The Patterson case has led to the proposal of Florida Senate Bill 304 and Florida House Bill 511. These bills aim to give parents the right to a second medical opinion in cases involving allegations of abuse. Despite these efforts and the fact that lawmakers have declared Michael and Tasha to be factually innocent, they are still without their children. The situation has been described by former dependency judge and Florida Representative Patt Maney as a ‘miscarriage of justice’, highlighting the urgent need for action and effective reform.
Charleston, AR
In the small town of Charleston, Arkansas – home to just 2,600 people – residents are facing a battle they didn’t choose. Without their knowledge or input, the Arkansas Department of Corrections and the Governor decided to build a 3,000-bed prison right in their backyard, purchasing 800 acres on Mill Creek Mountain in secret.
One Love Longview, TX
Amanda and the staff of One Love Longview have recently been the focus of a concerted effort by the City of Longview to shutter their facility since city officials and the Longview Police Department co-hosted an official meeting at a local church as a public stoning of the organization. This was followed by law enforcement physically arresting One Love Longview’s clients at alarmingly higher rates under local ordinances. At the same time, other citizens received only verbal warnings or citations for the same offenses, which included walking against the flow of traffic, riding a bicycle against the flow of traffic, and jaywalking.
Mason and Madalyn Savely
The Savely family has spent over $100,000 on legal fees and medical experts, an overwhelming financial burden resulting from CPS relying on the opinion of a CAP rather than doing its due diligence and adequately investigating the allegation of abuse. CPS has taken an opinion and represented it as a fact, fracturing another innocent family.
Damani Clarke and Shelby Whiting-Clarke
Damani Clarke and Shelby Whiting-Clarke are parents to Anariah, a beautiful one-year-old girl. Inherited health conditions lead to her suffering a variety of issues. A series of events would lead to Anariah to be taken to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, where Child Abuse Pediatricians would once again diagnose abuse when there was none.
At their dependency hearing, medical experts for Damani and Shelby testified that Anariah had Metabolic Bone Disease, poor bone mineralization, and ossification defects and that periosteal reactions are quite normal in long bones of infants and are representative of fast growth and not fracture lines. This testimony was disregarded.
The state seeks to terminate the parental rights of Damani and Shelby and have Anariah adopted.

Matt and Tuckey Hernandez
The Matthew and Wilairat “Tuckey” Hernandez family has been torn apart due to false accusations of child abuse against the mother by the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS). In this case, there is strong evidence and testimony of many family members and friends that indicate Mrs. Wilairat Hernandez has been falsely charged and arrested for abusing their seven-month-old daughter, Emma, and her family unjustly separated. Their children, Emma and Arya, 3-years-11-months old were removed and placed in foster care. More…
